my wishes for 2013

The latest challenge over on Merly is titled 2013. I don't do resolutions because I know I will just break them. So, I thought and thought-(that in itself was a challenge) and came up with a play on the numbers whilst keeping with the theme. The papers are from soda and the photo of my men is an old one but probably the latest one too. (New year resolution-to take more pics of the three of them!!!!!!!!!)

crop challenge

We have decided at our crop to set each other a challenge. Each month we are going to take it in turns to try and push each other out of our comfort zones. I started this month with a layout from the Kaiser workshop booklet. (Hope its ok to show the original- I'm sure I'll be reprimanded if it isn't!)

I included instructions with measurements so that we could follow the layout exactly but in true Blue Peter style I had prepared 2 layouts that used the original for inspiration but were very different.
This one just has the elements reversed.

This second one uses a smaller photo and has the elements reversed to.

The one I did on the day is also slightly different but does follow the sketch  more closely.

Do hope the others enjoyed doing it and liked the papers even if it wasn't something they would choose to do themselves.

The river bank

Along the banks of the River Neva in Saint Petersburg are many beautiful buildings. Shown in this photo are the Admiralty Building and part of the Hermitage which houses many famous and gorgeous art works.

I lurve football.

I do, I really do. Some of you may be laughing at that but there is no better occupation that watching a game on tv for at least 90 minutes if not more. Well that's if you are my dear husband. I then get to play for an hour and a half-brill. So, during the game last night I did a couple of layouts. Rubbish photo and the one of the 2nd layout is even worse which is why it isn't posted on here yet-too dark now to take another pic of it.
This one is of our canal trip in St. Petersburg using the last bits of some MME paper. Can't remember where I originally saw this layout but I've lifted it from somewhere. Tell me if you know the answer. It is of course straight irl and one day I will take a straight picture but not today!!

2 in one day

I did this layout at the last crop but was waiting for the little people to arrive in order to complete it. the photo is of my youngest and a close friend who is such a lovely girl. I think it is a great photo of them and will be a lovely reminder in years to come.

This layout is for the Merly challenge and is using strips as per the brief from Emilie. There are some great layouts this month. The photo is of a canal in St. Petersburg and though you would never know it from the photo the colours of the building go really well with the Pickled Pear papers from Kaiser.
